ECB CricketForce 2010

This is an event being held at Uttoxeter Cricket Club on the weekend of the 27th and 28th March 2010 and they ask if anyone can help in any of the projects that they are aiming to undertake at the Club.
CricketForce is an England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) annual volunteering initiative aimed at rejuvenating the nation’s cricketing facilities. We anticipate that it will once again be the biggest annual volunteering event in sport. In 2009 85,000 volunteers helped over 1,514 Community Cricket Clubs make a difference to their facilities and cricket to the value of £35-40 million!!!! Mainly through in kind contributions.
ECB CricketForce at Uttoxeter Cricket Club, with your support, will be a stunning success leaving a living legacy for the communities neighbouring your organisation/business. We fully appreciate that the current economic climate does not make this a perfect time for all businesses to be asked to support us in this way. However, CricketForce is not simply a way to dress up requests for monetary sponsorship, instead it is a request for in kind help and contributions towards developmental projects being undertaken.
The projects that Uttoxeter Cricket Club are seeking to undertake are :
• Decoration of the Pavilion interior, including replacement of curtains and carpets, the painting of walls, repair and replacement of tables and seating.
• Decoration of the Pavilion exterior, principally the painting of the building.
• Renovation work including the installation of a new kitchen, complete with new cooking facilities and work area, the replacing of the current bathroom fittings including new sanitary products and showers.
• Improvements to the current playing facilities with the possibility of a new nets and scoreboard.
As you will appreciate, each of these projects requires a number of raw materials, A large amount of labour, often skilled. It is the need for these that has inspired the club to write to you and ask for any possible assistance in the success of these much needed improvements to a wonderful community Cricket Club. All help, no matter how big or small, will be positively received.
And if you have any doubts – we would encourage you to visit, www.ecb.co.uk/cricketforce and see what clubs achieved in recent years, with the support and contribution from businesses in the local community.
